RHETORIC SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS RETREAT
AUGUST 22 - 25, 2022
The Hume Lake Spiritual Emphasis retreat is a time set aside for Beacon Hill Rhetoric students, teachers and counselors to experience the love of Jesus Christ and grow closer to Him.

If not, you need to complete the Hume Lake registration HERE and you need to complete the BHCA permission form HERE. This is the official kick-off to the school year! Plus, the fee is already taken care of as part of your tuition!
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Please arrange to drop-off and pick up at the , Ojai Lower Parking Lot.
Arrive at Forest Home lower parking lot, Monday, August 23 at 12pm. (See address below and attached map for Forest Home location) If you need a ride from school, please let me know HERE.
Depart Forest Home on Thursday, August 26 at 10:30am
MEALS
Please bring a sack lunch for our arrival day, Monday August 23. All other meals at Forest Home are provided. There is also a camp store open in the afternoons that sells snacks. If you have dietary / allergy restrictions, please email John Witty at johnwitty@beaconhillclassical.org.
WEATHER
Plan for it to be warm during the days and cool in the early morning and evenings.
DETAILS
Group activities, unique challenges, and times of worship break students out of their normal routines and allow them to hear God’s word with a clear mind and a humble attitude. Each element of the program is designed to reinforce our core biblical values.
Evening meetings and small group time provide solid biblical teaching and allow students to digest and wrestle with the truth in a supportive environment. Free time lets students bond and enjoy the many adventures Forest Home has to offer.

- Sleeping Bag
- Pillow
- Towel (for pool / shower)
- Toiletries (Soap, shampoo, toothbrush, etc.)
- Any needed medication, glasses, contacts, etc.
- Sunscreen, Hat, Sunglasses
- Reusable Water bottle - You NEED to bring one!!! It's going to be sunny and hot and you can refill it there.
- Closed-toed shoes (flip flops too, if desired)
- Bathing suit - Be modest for the sake of all of us. No speedos, No 2-pieces or tankini's. (Forest Home's policy for girls is 1-piece bathing suits, however we do not expect you to go buy a new bathing suit. You could wear a swim shirt or colored t-shirt over your 2-piece suit. And, if your suit is cut super high in the back, bring a pair of board shorts.)

- Sweatshirt for the evening
- You don't need to wear your BHCA uniform, but you DO need to make sure your clothes are free from offensive logos / designs / words / etc. Keep it classy, Beacon.
- Spending $$ for snacks / souvenirs (Snacks are in the $1-$5 range, T-shirts are around $15 and water bottles are around $40)
- An actual camera (not your phone...)
- A favorite game others can play too
