Jaimie Watson, Grammar 1 Teacher
Liv Barber, Grammar 1 Teacher
Hello! My name is Olivia, or Liv, Barber. This is my very first year teaching KinderEnrichment here at Beacon Hill. I have always dreamed of working with children. Here at Beacon, not only do I get to work with kids, I get to spread the gospel and teach them about the Lord. I am beyond blessed to be a part of this community of teachers! I moved to Ventura when I was 18 with high hopes to join the United States Coast Guard. However, God quickly changed my heart and led me slowly but surely, here to Beacon Hill. I am a part of the Arise church family in Ventura. I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, camping and being in God's creation. One goal I have this year is to plant a seed of creativity and a love for the Lord in the Kindergarteners' hearts.

Juliana Fowler, Grammar 3 Auxilium
Beacon Hill has been our school home for the past 10 years. My husband Dan and I have been so blessed by the BHCA community and our three children (Jeriah, Kai, and Karis) have all been able to learn and grow with a christian worldview perspective. I am excited to be back on Lower School as an auxilium and supporting the school in any way I can! I started my journey in education at Pepperdine University working toward my teaching credential, and finished with a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Israel College of the Bible, combining my love of working with kids with my love of Jesus. After moving back from Israel, I spent the next many years being a mom, a homeschool mom, office manager, 1st grade teacher, and now auxilium for the 5th grade! We attend Reality Ventura and enjoy the beach, traveling, and any kind of new adventure.

Craig Linquist, Woodworking Teacher
Craig Linquist was born in 1968 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He grew up in the remote Central African Republic (CAR) Africa where has parents and grandparents had served as pioneer missionaries for a combined 60 years. His maternal grandparents, Alan and Marjorie Redpath, were involved in pastoral and evangelistic work both in England and the United States, and finally around the world.
In 1984, Craig’s father died in a truck accident in the CAR at the age of 42. Obviously this was traumatic for both Craig and his mom, and after graduating from high school in Kenya, and he returned with his mother to the United States in 1986. There, Craig attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he graduated in 1992 with a degree in Agricultural Development. His college experience challenged and strengthened his Christian beliefs and he realized he wanted to continue serving the Lord overseas.
In 1989, Craig met his future wife Loren through their participation in Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship and a common heart and love for international students. They got married in 1991, moved to San Jose, California where they lived and worked for 12 years. During those years Loren went from full time bi-lingual teacher to Spanish speaking children, to full time at-home mother and home-schooler of our three sons, Aleksander, Jonathan, and Nathanael. Craig worked for seven years for a Landscape construction and management firm before accepting the call into ministry as an assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel, San Jose, overseeing the church administration, family ministries, seniors, and of course missions.
Both Craig and Loren recognized the call on their lives to GO and serve the Lord in other parts of the world, and even had the desire to GO, the question for them was always where and when? Well, the Lord confirmed in both our hearts that “the where” was to be to Uganda. In 2004, Craig and Loren, with their three sons, moved to Uganda where they would live and serve for the next fourteen years. In that time, Craig was a Bible teacher at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Kampala, Uganda, and founder and pastor of Calvary Chapel Outreach Ministries. Loren worked as a teacher at a missionary school in Entebbe and helped found Calvary Christian Academy. From the church they planted, Calvary Chapel Entebbe, other churches were planted, an elementary school was started in 2007, a vocational training school in 2009, a medical clinic and outreach in 2009, and a Bible Institute in 2021. Craig and Loren left Uganda in 2018, coming back to California to care for their elderly parents and help their now college age children make the transition back to life in the USA.
Currently, Craig serves as Assistant Pastor and Missions Pastor at Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Thousand Oaks, CA, and Loren continues teaching history, literature, and Spanish at a local middle school in Camarillo where they live. Both continue to be involved with the work they started in Uganda.
Lifelong scripture: Proverbs 3:3, 5,6 “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
