She is thankful to have participated as a family at Beacon Hill, since the school’s first year, and now has graduated her oldest 2. Serving as a volunteer for years, she enjoys helping this year as a School Trips Coordinator and Senior US Government instructor. Her passion for Christian Education in Ventura County began from her youth, as her parents pioneered a distinctly Christian cultured, discipleship school in Camarillo. She was introduced to the Classical view of education at Hillsdale College. Her double majors of Christian Studies and Political Economy, and her internship in Washington, DC at the Heritage Foundation continued her love of history and travel, which fuels her passion for our Logic & Rhetoric Schools’ History and Culture Tours and shapes her passion to inspire a view of Citizenship in our country.

Cherie LaSala, Upper Campus Specialist and Yearbook Advisor
Mrs. LaSala joined the Beacon Hill Staff in 2021 as Auxilium and Resource Specialist on the Upper Campus.  Her background as an office manager, executive assistant, and homeschool teacher allowed her to connect with students who struggle with executive function. This year she is not only meeting individually with students but also teaching an organizational skills class to all logic school students.  She accepted the challenge of being the yearbook advisor and is enjoying teaching a class where executive function meets art and discipleship. She is honored to walk alongside students as their eyes learn to see truth, beauty, and goodness and then artistically create a book that honors each individual as an image bearer of Christ. Mrs. LaSala has 2 adult children and 2 children that attend BHCA.  They are members of Soli Deo Gloria Church in Newbury Park.

Sue Matta, Logic and Rhetoric Activities Director
Mrs. Matta is our director of fun on upper campus and enjoys seeing students laugh
and get excited over the silly activities and events she is blessed to plan for them. She spent ten years as a government contractor working at Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme as the manager of the civilian portion of the Public Affairs Office. Community outreach, media relations, ship tours, newsletters, visiting dignitaries, and planning special events were some of her daily activities. She also has utilized her bachelor's degree in English from Cal State University Northridge in numerous marketing positions over the years. Mrs. Matta has one son who called Beacon Hill his family from 7th -12th grade. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, playing cards, hanging out with family and friends, but one of her most favorite things is to watch people get baptized into the Lord’s family.

Maureen Doyle, Grammar 1 Auxilium
Mrs. Doyle earned her BS degree in Business Management and Economics from Southern Oregon University.  She was privileged to work in the General Contracting industry for over 20 years in the area of Business Operations/Finance and Interior Design alongside her husband.  Throughout the years, Mrs. Doyle has enjoyed serving in Children’s Ministries and assisting 1st through 3rd graders with Early Literacy and Mathematics curriculum.  She later accepted the position of Payroll Administrator with Medford Fire-Rescue prior to the blessing of their son.  Mrs. Doyle was fortunate to stay home to raise their son during his formative years.  Following her family’s move to Camarillo in 2019, Mrs. Doyle was called to homeschool their son and was blessed when she was introduced to Classical Christian education through BHCA.  As a parent, there is no greater joy than to see our children flourish spiritually and academically, and she is honored to join the Beacon Hill Auxilium.  She is married to her best friend Richard of 17 years and together they are the proud parents to their son Ian, who is starting his second year at BHCA.  The Doyle family enjoys serving and fellowshipping at Calvary Chapel Conjeo Valley, in Thousand Oaks.  Apart from work, Mrs. Doyle enjoys the adventures of travel, camping, gardening, home projects, and relaxing at the beach with her family.

Juliana Fowler, Grammar 5 Auxilium
Beacon Hill has been our school home for the past 10 years.  My husband Dan and I have been so blessed by the BHCA community and our three children (Jeriah, Kai, and Karis) have all been able to learn and grow with a christian worldview perspective.  I am excited to be back on Lower Campus as an auxilium and supporting the school in any way I can!  I started my journey in education at Pepperdine University working toward my teaching credential, and finished with a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Israel College of the Bible, combining my love of working with kids with my love of Jesus.  After moving back from Israel, I spent the next many years being a mom, a homeschool mom, office manager, 1st grade teacher, and now auxilium for the 5th grade!  We attend Reality Ventura and enjoy the beach, traveling, and any kind of new adventure.
