History & Social Studies

History is essential to a classical education. Students at Beacon Hill begin their studies of history with a thorough, grammar-level course from Creation to the present day. By grade 5, students have studied many of the major events, characters, and time periods that make up their story. In Logic school, students do a second cycle, and in Rhetoric school a third. Students also study jurisprudence and civics throughout their time in Rhetoric school through Mock Trial and a course on U.S. Government.
