The Hume Lake Spiritual Emphasis retreat is a time set aside for Beacon Hill Rhetoric students, teachers and counselors to experience the love of Jesus Christ and grow closer to Him.
Retreat cost: Included in tuition

MEDICAL INFORMATION
A Registered Nurse from Hume is present for each week of camp and there is a volunteer Fire Department on-site with on-call EMT staff daily. There is a fully stocked First Aid station with 24-hour access to counselors. The Hume Lake registered nurse administers and ensures all daily medications are given to campers outside of pre-arranged with BHCA chaperones.
Please send any medications (including supplements) in the original container.
Campers may only keep Epi pens and rescue inhalers with them. All other medications must be turned into
the camp Nurse, or BHCA chaperones, and will be dispensed at each meal and before bedtime, or as directed.

- Departure - Please be at BHCA Upper Campus (1601 Temple Ave. Camarillo, CA 93010) no later than 7:45am to load the buses.
- Bring a sack lunch for the drive to Hume. We will stop for a bathroom break, but not long enough to get lunch.
- Return - We anticipate returning to BHCA Upper Campus between 4:30-5:30pm
- Please watch BHCA social media for estimated time of arrival on 8/25/22
- A sack lunch is provided by Hume, but we will also be stopping for a bathroom break and snacks on the return trip.
WHAT TO BRING
- Bible, Notebook, Pen or Pencil (seriously – bring these! You will 100% use them!)
- Flashlight
- Sleeping bag and pillow
- Toiletries and a towel for swimming and showering
- Warm and cool clothes
- Jacket
- Water bottle
- Modest, one-piece swimsuit (no two-piece or tankinis)
- $60 recommended spending money (Snack store items range from $2-$10; sweatshirts are $40+)
- Paintball and the high ropes course will also be available for an extra charge of $15 for each activity.
WHAT NOT TO BRING
- Cell phone. Bring an old-school camera for pictures instead!
- Drugs (unless prescribed by a doctor)
- Alcohol
- Tobacco
- Fireworks
- Firearms
- Electronic devices including Bluetooth speakers, gaming consoles, computers, etc.
- Girls: no bare midriffs or spaghetti straps; Guys: no sagging.
